Creative Extension - County Maps
Ask students if they know the name of the county in which they reside. Distribute outline maps of the county and, using classroom and online resources, ask students to place what they believe to be the most important information on the map. Students should include a key. Encourage them to illustrate their maps the way Foster and Seller illustrated theirs. Display the maps around the classroom and have students discuss their similarities and differences.
